Rain on a dog

Light rain meant a dog’s life
That went on ignoring flies

In a lackadaisical tail effort.
Flies bothered like a drizzle

Over baldness, around ears.
The rain drops were the size

And bluster of summer flies
Not heavy on the dog’s life.

His tail has grown over time
Too philosophical about flies.
